McEldowney Agency first opened it's
doors for business in 1893. It was an affiliate of the 1st State
Bank of Chicago Heights. The founder, William J. McEldowney,
who, as a youth, served in the Calvary during the Civil War.
The Agency remained with the bank until 1931. The bank did
not survive the Depression, but the McEldowney Agency
flourished. The Agency has been passed down through
generations, and is one of the oldest family owned
businesses in the Chicago area. The current owner and
president, Scott, is the 6th generation McEldowney to manage
the Agency.
Our office is currently located in Olympia Fields, Il.
Before that, we were located in Chicago Heights, IL. We are
South Suburban oriented, but our clients come from all over
the Chicagoland area. We are licensed in both Illinois and
Indiana.
